Prime Day – A Few of My Favorite Things..

Sure, everyone knows that you are always guaranteed a great deal on an Instant Pot or one of many Amazon products (who else needs a bunch of new blink cameras?!) on Prime Day, but what about everything else? If you are anything like me, you can easily get lost in the black-hole that is Amazon Prime Day. Searching for a deal that is worth it and finding products you actually want on sale can be time consuming, especially when adding all the review reading that needs to be done. So I thought I’d throw together a quick list of products that I love that are showing up in Prime Day specials!

Here are a few of my favorite things that are on sale (I personally promise that I own all of the items on this list and utterly love them):

Items may be lightening deals, therefore they may no longer be on sale after posting this. These are affiliate links, which means I receive a portion of the profits from Amazon to help maintain my website.

Around the House:

iRobot Roomba i6+ (6550) Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal-Empties Itself for up to 60 Days, Wi-Fi Connected, Works with Alexa, Carpets, + Smart Mapping Upgrade – Clean & Schedule by Room (38% off for Prime Day)

In our house, he’s lovingly referred to as “Gerald” and often called my favorite child because he always does his chores ?. iRobot’s Roomba i6+ is an addition to our house that I should have pulled the trigger on years ago but I was always so overwhelmed with all the options and models in robot vacuums that it took forever to decide. What we learned was that this is not a purchase that we wanted to skimp on. The good quality models will map out your house so you can send it to specific areas of the house, instead of having to do everything all at once (which is a big deal if you are anything like me and have toys scattered around that need to be picked up before starting the robot).

*I know the i6 is pricey, but for our 3,000 square foot home, it was totally worth it. Some of the less expensive models, like the i4 are also on sale this week: https://amzn.to/3gRxONh

BSTY Immersion Hand Blender 2-in-1 6-Speed Stick Blender Handheld with Stainless Steel Blades, BPA-Free, Egg Whisk for Puree Baby Food, Smoothies, Sauces and Soups (20% off for Prime Day)

I was at a friends house visiting a few months ago and the cold weather instantly made me want my favorite fall soup recipe (here). Problem was, she didn’t own and immersion blender, so I had to pour the hot soup ingredients into a blender, and well, I’m too clumsy for that sh*t. Instantly, I knew what my “thank you for letting us crash at your house” gift was going to be! I never realized how much I love my immersion blender until I am without one. This is the one I bought for my friend and the one I would recommend to anyone else. Use it for soups, smoothies, to froth lattes or hot chocolate.. the possibilities are endless.

Up to 30% off Garmin Smartwatches

This year while my husband was getting his master’s degree he was given the opportunity to enroll in a study that was using Garmin fitness watches to see if they could predict health indicators before a COVID-19 diagnosis. He was given a free Garmin Fenix 6 watch and a Oura ring and had to report his stats daily for a few months. In exchange he was able to keep the watch. Which he has of course, fell in love with, after years of me trying to get him on the fitness watch train. He loves his so much, he has convinced me to switch over from my beloved Fitbit.

If you aren’t an avid hiker/golfer, then honestly, the Fitbit is a great price point and product, and they are on sale for Prime Day as well here: https://amzn.to/3vMi2IQ

But if you are a sports-enthusiast, hiker or golfer, then the investment into the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro, Sapphire or Solar are completely worth it because you can download maps directly to your watch as well as download music too. These features go above and beyond what Fitbit offers, and they have workout programs built in without having to pay the subscription fees you do with Fitbit. Many of the Garmin watches are on sale up to 30% off for Prime Day: https://amzn.to/3vLZqZx

The specific one we decided for my birthday present is the Garmin Fenix 6S Sapphire. The S stands for smaller, X stands for larger, and without a letter after the 6 is just the regular size. The Sapphire is the hardest glass they offer, not exactly scratch resistant to everything but the best they have. I am notoriously hard on electronics, so this is worth the extra price tag to me.

For the kids:

Earth’s Best Organic Baked Corn Puffs, Peanut Butter, 2.5 Oz (Pack of 6)

I swear by these peanut butter puffs. I am a mom who hates added sugars, especially since my son is fructose intolerant. So I am always thrilled to find toddler finger-foods that come prepackaged, are easy on the go, and still on the healthier side. We subscribe and save on these every other month, but if you want to try them out first, they are 20% off for Prime Day.

20 Pack Magnetic Cabinet Locks Baby Proofing – Vmaisi Children Proof Cupboard Drawers Latches – Adhesive Easy Installation  (20% off)

I learned early on in parenting that childproof locks are not only a pain, but really not all that hard for children to get around or hurt themselves with. These magnetic locks are my very favorite child proofing (and probably one of the few things that I actually do to child proof still).

SkyGenius Battery Operated Clip on Stroller Fan, Portable Mini Desk Fan Rechargeable (20% off)

Having lived in both Hawaii and the South the past few years, a clip-on stroller fan is a necessity. This was our go-to and has been so reliable that we always recommend it to others. Today it is 20% off for Prime Day.

8 Piece Tegu Pocket Pouch Magnetic Wooden Block Set – some colors are on sale for Prime Day

Being a military family, we do a lot of traveling by car and by plane. I am always on the hunt for compact toys that will help entertain both kids, ages 9 and 2. These magnetic blocks have been a life saver on many occasions and I haven’t found an age that doesn’t like to play with them.

Here to Slay by TeeTurtle (30% off)

My 9 year old son has always loved games. Games of all kinds; video games, sports, card games, and board games. Me, I kind of begrudgingly play them because they make him happy. It is always a win when we find a game that I actually look forward to playing. Here to Slay by TeeTurtle was a little complicated in the beginning but quickly became a favorite in our house. It is 30% off with Prime Day today along with some other card games: https://amzn.to/3iZD83R

Melissa & Doug Wooden Building Blocks Set (37% off with Prime Day)

I feel like everyone knows about Melissa and Doug toys at this point. Their quality is the reason we turned to this brand when it came time to buy a large block set for our kids. We’ve had them over two years now and they’ve never chipped, damaged, or splintered (even when thrown and played with daily).

Insect Lore Butterfly Garden: Original Habitat and Live Cup of Caterpillars with STEM Butterfly Journal – Life Science & STEM Education – Butterfly Kit (30% off)

This year we decided to do a mix of online K12 schooling and home schooling for our 3rd grader. Which meant I needed to find ways to make learning interesting when he wasn’t stuck on the computer doing school work. One of our favorite activities we did was the butterfly kits from Insect Lore. It ended up being an activity that the whole family (and grandparents in town for a visit) enjoyed. It is an amazing gift ideas as well.

For my pet loving friends:

Veken Cat Water Fountain, 84oz Automatic Pet Water Fountain Dog Water Dispenser with 3 Replacement Filters & 1 Silicone Mat for Cats and Small to Medium Dogs

Ok, admittedly I don’t have this exact model of cat fountain, but it is close and this thing is a lifesaver if you have a pain-in-the-a** pet like ours that only likes flowing water.

Lastly, it’s always nice to see the pet staples that we have to buy every month on sale, stock up now and save!

We have been Science Hill pet food fans since our cat broke her hip a few years ago and we just happened to learn by accident that she has kidney stones on the x-rays. The vet had us switch to Science Hill’s Urinary Tract food and we haven’t had a single issue since. Most of the Science Hill dry dog and cat foods are up to 30% off for Prime Day. Also, Advantage II Flea Prevention and Treatment is 49% off right now.

Do you have any favorite things that are up on Prime Day today?! I want to hear about them. Comment below so the rest of us can save too.
